Purpose:
The goal of The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) is to enable and empower students to take an active role in making UCLA a leader in sustainability. TGIF provides much-needed funding for projects that reduce UCLA’s negative impact on the environment.
Project Requirements:
- Projects must promote environmental sustainability on UCLA’s campus, including off-campus activities that influence sustainability on campus.
- Projects must have a clearly-defined, measurable outcome.
- Undergraduate student involvement and/or benefit is required.
- Requests up to $10,000 use this application. Above $10,000 (e.g., infrastructure projects) are accepted on a rolling basis.
- Proposals over $1,000 require a hearing with the Committee.
- Funds not allocated in a given year shall remain in TGIF for future use.
- Requests to extend project deadlines may be submitted for Committee review.
- Funds should be invested in socially and environmentally responsible manners.
